Going Within: A Cozy Fall Retreat
November 5 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm EDT
The Fall is a time for deep reflection and introspection. It is an opportunity to release what no longer serves us and to lay a new foundation for intentions and growth to begin expanding over the coming months. This retreat will provide you a supportive and sacred place to allow yourself to bring light to the darkness. It is through the community of this retreat and the mind, body, and spirit activities provided that you will feel empowered to honor the transformation of your heart and soul. This retreat will help you lay a nurturing foundation for deepening greater visions, clearer intentions, and expansion.
Deanna will guide the group through several yoga sessions including somatic yoga – a form of movement that helps balance the nervous system, relieve pain, and reduce stress in the body. This form of yoga is gentle and accessible, and enables connection between the brain, body and nervous system. This session will also include myofascial release using tennis balls to massage areas of the body prone to tension. Later, we will have a yin session geared toward the season of fall and going inward/releasing sadness and grief. This will be followed by restorative postures using blankets and bolsters to nourish and support the body for deep relaxation. Jenna will provide Reiki on students while they are in relaxation poses.
Jenna will offer Brainspotting and other activities to help you release patterns that no longer serve you and thus create space for new beginnings to grow. Brainspotting taps into the subcortical brain where emotional patterns about chronic stress, trauma, and negative belief patterns are held. This technique allows these emotional and energetic patterns to be released so new and healthy patterns can form. It helps to rewire the brain and encourage new patterns of neurons to fire that support greater emotional and spiritual health.
***Lunch will be provided. Vegetarian options are available upon request. All food will be gluten and dairy free.
***You will need to bring a yoga mat, dress comfortably, ear buds, an electronic device such as smart phone or other device that you can access YouTube from for music that is needed to help enhance the Brainspotting experience.
Meet your Presenters
Deanna has been practicing yoga for more than twenty-five years, and teaching for over thirteen. She earned both her 200 hour and 500 hour level certifications at the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem where she also served as the director of teacher training for several years. She has additional training in restorative, yin, somatic, partner and children’s yoga. Deanna’s classes are creatively themed– allowing for a unique experience incorporating topics ranging from mythology, Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, psychological topics, etc. Each class is crafted to include asana, music, spiritual readings and more. Deanna’s passion is helping her students be their best selves through the healing practices of yoga.
Her specialty is somatic yoga, a practice which helps practitioners recover from tension stored in the body in the form of trauma, stress and injury. Somatic yoga is a gentle form of yoga which asks students to go inward, focusing on sensation with awareness and mindfulness. This style of yoga helps release sensory motor amnesia – when our muscles are either locked into contraction or non-engagement. The overall effect is one of deep relaxation and calm, as well as renewed energy and purpose. She has trained extensively with Tias Little of Santa Fe, New Mexico in the art of somatic yoga (SATYA). She teaches at a variety of locations throughout the Lehigh Valley and you can find her on Facebook at Deanna Nagle Yoga.
Jenna Galligani, MS, LPC
Jenna has over 15 years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health therapist, is a Certified Brainspotting Therapist, and a Master level Reiki Practitioner and teacher. It was through her work as a therapist that she began to realize there is more to this world than meets the eye. Her journey into the metaphysical world launched forward when she went blind in 2012. Losing her vision forced her to tap into this unseen aspect of our existence. Her energy work acted as a catalyst to help her develop her psychic and mediumistic abilities. She has studied a variety of energy modalities over the past decade and has been developing her mediumship over the past 5 years, including studying with international tutors to hone her abilities as a psychic/medium. Jenna is passionate about helping individuals heal, deepen their intuition, and bridge the gap between individuals and their loved ones.
