Tai Chi and Qigong Movement Class 4-14-23
April 14 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am EDT
Tai Chi and Qigong Movement Class
Much like yoga’s Sun Salutation series of postures, the flowing movements in Qigong sets and Tai Chi forms are designed to stretch and strengthen muscle and connective tissue, and smooth fascia.
They also improve the flow of energy, or Qi, through the body, which can correct health-damaging imbalances. Done with intention and coordinated with the breath, the slow-paced, purposeful movements become a moving meditation that can balance, heal, and nourish both
body and mind.
The practice increases one’s sense of Qi, the life force that flows through all things. It also connects us to the forces of yin and yang and our context within nature’s elements, which are always seeking balance.
A greater awareness of this universal tendency toward balance benefits our own personal sense of balance, making us better able to responsive, rather than reactive, to life.
Practicing Tai Chi and Qigong in a group heightens the Qi generated (and thus the benefits!).
Lead instructor Alice Perry has studied tai chi since 1998 and been certified to teach since 2010. Whether she’s leading students in the Tai Chi 24 Steps Simplified form, Tai Chi Qigong 18 Steps Levels I and II, or another qigong set, her focus is on guiding you in and on effortless action, on flow, on the direct connection between the movements, your fully engaged mind and the power of your life force.
Cost $16.50 for a single event, $66 for a 5 class package.
